How to handle the delayed sending of processing or payment request when the staff moves between 2 floors

Fact: The restaurant is large and has multiple floors/areas. When the staff sends order to kitchen/bar or payment request to the cashier, it is sometimes delayed.

Cause It may be due to network infrastructure of the restaurant. When the staff works on Floor 2, his/her device is automatically connected to wireless access point on Floor 2. Later, when he/she moves to floor 1 and sends request to kitchen/bar or cashier, connection to wireless access point on Floor 2 becomes weak. Therefore, his/her device is automatically connected to wireless access point on Floor 1. The time of switching access point delays sending request.
Solution:

  • The restaurant should assign staff to work on a certain floor/area, minimize the movement..
  • If the staff needs to move, he/she should complete sending request before moving.
  • Or the restaurant should install a router with wide coverage.
