Assign IP address according to MAC address of the local server

IP address (*1) on a computer normally is automatically assigned. When it is restarted, this IP address will be changed.

If the waitstaff’s mobile device is connected to the local server and IP address of the server is changed, the cashier cannot synchronize transactions with the server. Therefore, it is necessary to assign a fixed IP address for the local server according to MAC address (*2). When assigning IP address according to MAC address of the local server, IP address of the server will always be fixed (E.g.: Fix IP address of the local server as 192.168.0.100) and prioritized by the access point upon network connection. Please follow these steps:
1. To check IP address and MAC address of the local server, please follow these steps:

Click the icon on the bottom right, select Open Network and Sharing Center

Select Local Area Connection

Click Details…

IPv4 Address is the IP address of the local server.

Physical Address is the MAC address of the local server

2. Assign IP address according to MAC address of the local server. 
Depending on the network provider, assigning IP address according to MAC address of the local server is different.
For example assign IP address on Router TP Link.
Open the browser and enter IP address of Router. Normally 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1Enter Username, Password. Default Username is admin, Password is admin or 1234 or 1111. (Login information is different among providers and normally printed on the bottom of the device)

Click Login.

Click IP & MAC Binding, select Binding SettingClick Add new.

Enter MAC Address of the local server. On some Routers, when entering MAC address, separate characters with “:” instead of “-“.Enter IP Address to be assigned for the local server.
Click Save.

For other network providers, it is possible to do settings by searching in LAN nework settings, go to MAC Address and IP Address to set.
