I. Purpose<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Help restaurants at Shangri-La shopping mall in the Philippines<\/strong> configure a shared 12-hour operating period<\/strong> across POS devices, automatically close at the end of that period, and generate sales reports required by the mall.<\/p>\n

Restaurants can generate reports automatically during Z closing<\/strong> or export them manually for a selected date range on the POS. Reports are saved as ASCII .txt files<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

II.<\/strong> Instruction steps<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. Configure the trade center and operating hours<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. On the management site, go to System settings \u2192 General settings \u2192 Restaurant information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Under Trade center<\/strong>, select Shangrila<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Enter the Start time<\/strong>:\n
      \n
    • This field is required.<\/li>\n
    • Enter a whole-hour value from 00:00 to 23:00<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Review the End time<\/strong>, which the system calculates automatically:\n

      End time\u00a0<\/span><\/span>= <\/span><\/span>Start time\u00a0<\/span><\/span>+ <\/span><\/span>1<\/span>2<\/span>\u00a0hours<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • Enter the Sales Department Code<\/strong>:\n
        \n
      • This field is required.<\/li>\n
      • A maximum of 128 characters<\/strong> is allowed.<\/li>\n
      • Enter the full name without abbreviations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Save the settings.

        Example:<\/strong> If the start time is 06:00<\/strong>, the end time is 18:00 the same day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • When the settings are saved, the system updates the Business hour<\/strong> end time to match the Working time<\/strong> end time. The Business hour<\/strong> start time remains unchanged.<\/li>\n
        • If you later select another trade center, the system does not automatically restore the previous end time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          2. Process sales on the POS during the configured operating period<\/strong><\/h3>\n

          After receiving the settings from the management site, all FS and QS POS<\/strong> devices apply the restaurant\u2019s shared operating period.<\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Open a shift from the Start time<\/strong> of the new business day.<\/li>\n
          2. Enter and process orders during the 12-hour operating period<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          3. At the end of the period, the system automatically closes according to the existing closing workflow.<\/li>\n
          4. After closing, a new shift can only be opened from the Start time of the next business day<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Automatic closing occurs at 59 minutes and 59 seconds past the configured end hour<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
            • Sales can only be processed within the configured operating period.<\/li>\n
            • If a POS device has not received the operating-hour settings, it continues to use its current sales settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              3. Automatically generate reports during Z Closing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

              When the restaurant performs Z closing<\/strong>, the ENT server automatically generates or updates the Shangri-La sales report.<\/p>\n

              The system:<\/p>\n

                \n
              • Consolidates data from POS devices.<\/li>\n
              • Retains only the latest report file.<\/li>\n
              • Generates data for 12 hourly periods<\/strong> and one summary record.<\/li>\n
              • Exports an ASCII .txt file<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • Saves the report in the Archive folder<\/strong> specified in the system configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Note:<\/strong> If report generation or updating fails, the system still allows Z closing<\/strong> to be completed.<\/p>\n

                4. Manually export reports on the POS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                On FS or QS POS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

                  \n
                1. Open Export reports for trade center<\/strong>.
                  \n

                2. Select the date range under From date \u2192 To date<\/strong>:\n
                    \n
                  • The default is the current date.<\/li>\n
                  • Future dates cannot be selected.<\/li>\n
                  • The maximum date range is 31 days<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                  • Select a location to save the file.<\/li>\n
                  • Export the report.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    The system exports the report as an uncompressed ASCII .txt file<\/strong> and displays the export result.<\/p>\n

                    5. Review report data<\/strong><\/h3>\n

                    When reconciling the Shangri-La report, note the following:<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Canceled bills and their voided original bills are excluded.<\/li>\n
                    • The SC\/PWD 5% discount<\/strong> is calculated on the Subtotal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                    • Service charge<\/strong> is recorded based on the actual transaction data, whether or not tax applies.<\/li>\n
                    • Gross sales<\/strong> are calculated as follows:\n
