{"id":23447,"date":"2022-09-16T16:43:32","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T09:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"\/de\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=23447"},"modified":"2022-09-19T09:20:12","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T02:20:12","slug":"set-a-static-ip-for-the-printer","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"\/de\/kb\/set-a-static-ip-for-the-printer\/","title":{"rendered":"Set a static IP for the printer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"PageHeader_Content\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Normally, the restaurants set a dynamic IP upon installation of a printer in the network.\u00a0This may lead to the situation that after installing the printer can work properly, but some time later it cannot print because its IP is changed.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">To solve this, the restaurant should set a <strong>Static IP<\/strong>\u00a0(fixed IP) for the printer so that the printer can work stably.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Some printers allow to set a static IP right on the device. Find Manual IP or Fixed IP to enter a fixed IP for the printer.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">However, for the printers which do not display the menu to set a static IP, follow these steps:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Step 1<\/strong><strong>. Search MAC address and current IP of the printer<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">To see current IP of the printer, print a test page from the printer. Different printer has different way of printing test page. For example: for Epson printer: Turn off the printer, hold Feed button and turn on the printer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Each printer has a single MAC address. MAC address is displayed in the test page or printer information on the device or in the document (you can find it in: Physical address or\u00a0Hardware address)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-size30\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cukcuk.de\/en\/images\/IP_may_in.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Step 2. Set up a static IP for the printer (on TPLink router)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">From a PC in LAN network, open web browser and access to IP of the router and enter username, password in order to go to &#8211; Settings. Note: If the user has not changed IP address or access account, normally it is defaulted that:<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">With TP Link Router, the user can type: http:\/\/192.168.1.1 or http:\/\/192.168.0.1 or http:\/\/tplinklogin.net.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">With Router<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0Linksys\/Tenda\/Other it can be http:\/\/192.168.1.1 or http:\/\/192.168.2.1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">username is defaulted as admin. Password is admin or left blank.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-size50\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cukcuk.de\/en\/images\/loginpage.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">To set up a static IP, on Router setting interface:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">1. Go to\u00a0<strong>DHCP\\ Address Reservation <\/strong>to see list of devices set a static IP.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-size70\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cukcuk.de\/en\/images\/Reserse add.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">2. Click Add New to enter static IP parameters for the restaurant&#8217;s printer<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-size70\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cukcuk.de\/en\/images\/addNewIPstatic.png\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">3. Enter MAC address of the printer in\u00a0<strong>MAC Address <\/strong>box\u00a0(MAC address is discussed in Step 1).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">4. Enter a fixed IP for the printer. (e.g.: 192.168.1.10).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">5. Select\u00a0<strong>Status<\/strong> as\u00a0<strong>Enabled<\/strong>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">6. Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong> to save changes<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">At this time IP of the printer is changed (e.g.\u00a0192.168.1.10), so it is necessary to re-select printer in order for the other devices in the network to recognize the printer with new fixed IP.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><em>Note: to establish DHCP Reservation (set up static IP for a device accessing to the network) can be different among different routers.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><em>On Linksys E-series router<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0go to<\/span>: Setup\\ Basic Setup\\ DHCP Reservation: Check Select corresponding to the printer to be set and then click Save<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><em>On Tenda router go to: DHCP Server\\ DHCP Client List<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>In addition, if the printer is set with a static IP and it still cannot print, see Common problems with printer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gettingstarted.cukcuk.com\/mot_so_loi_thuong_gap_tren_may_in.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Normally, the restaurants set a dynamic IP upon installation of a printer in the network.\u00a0This may lead to the situation that after installing the printer can work properly, but some time later it cannot print because its IP is changed.
